UFC 232 closed the year out for the promotion in perfect style. Two titles were on the line in the final pay-per-view of 2018, at light-heavyweight at women’s featherweight, with both fights delivering electrifying knockout finishes.

With the drama surrounding the main event, it’s no wonder fans were clamoring to see Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson’s rematch take place. As these things often turn out, their second bout was nowhere near as competitive as the first.

Jones would eventually finish the bout in the third round, whereas the co-main event of the evening didn’t even last one minute. Cris Cyborg, undefeated in 10 years, came into UFC 232 putting her featherweight title on the line. Thus far nobody had come close to beating her in the UFC, and Amanda Nunes was moving up in weight to make 145 pounds.

The bantamweight, and now featherweight champion made seriously short work of her Brazilian countrywoman. The haymakers flew from both warriors but it was “The Lioness” who connected with the sweeter strikes.
