The Miami product gained her black belt in Taekwondo at the tender age of 11 and has been absolutely smashing it ever since. Coming up against 26-year-old Muay Thai fighter, Colby Fletcher Loureda was presented with an interesting stylistic match up. Fletcher had a career win from 2015 but had not fought again since that year, making a long-awaited comeback to the top level, as well as a Bellator debut, herself. It wasn’t to be Fletcher’s night, however as Loureda’s energetic movement kept her on the back foot from the get-go. After a lot of circle work to open the fight, Loureda darted in catching Fletcher completely off guard. Her defence compromised, a Loureda triple left-right-left combo saw her flailing backwards, an ensuring left kick bringing her down to the mat.

From there a relentless barrage of hammer fists watched closely by the referee was defended gallantly by Fletcher, but her position was poor allowing Loureda to notch up her first win at the 2:55 mark of the first round. Following the fight, Loureda outlined just how much the win meant to her as she seized her opportunity.

“I think it’s less about emotion for me, and more about the passion I have for this. People truly don’t understand this is what I’ve breathed since I was a girl. This is in my blood. So, I was just so passionate about this moment, and I’ve been thinking about this exact moment for the past four months since I found out I’d be fighting for Bellator. I’ve been scripting it in my head how it’s going to go, and how it needs to go, and I put in the work for this fight to turn out the way it did.”
